In our roaring twenties
None of us predicted
How quickly we would change-
How we would happily let slide
The dreams to which our childish minds
Had clung with such ferocity –
How we would find a stronger sense of self
By becoming more connected –
How we would soften
And grow more domestic –
How life would blossom
In ways we never expected.
I saw a Star upon a throne,
and on the throne a Star.
When asked how far was the star,
I shrugged and said “it is!”
